To celebrate the inauguration and operation of the expanded International Terminal 2 (T2) and the year-end festive season, Noi Bai International Airport has officially launched a series of cultural and artistic activities themed "Journey of Love."

This year’s festive season bears special significance as it aligns with the unveiling of the expanded Terminal T2’s new appearance. Beyond upgrading infrastructure and operational capacity, Noi Bai International Airport is steadily realizing its objective of becoming a "cultural touchpoint," elevating the passenger experience toward international 4-star airport standards.

A Heritage Space Within Modern Architecture

The highlight of the series is the Traditional Art Exhibition, taking place from December 15, 2025, to January 10, 2026. Located in the airside departure area on the 3rd floor of Terminal T2, a newly constructed modern architectural space, passengers will have the opportunity to admire the depth of Vietnamese culture through carefully selected artworks.

Prominently displayed in the West Wing is the large-scale lacquer wood sculpture duo titled "Con Rồng Cháu Tiên" (The Dragon and the Fairy), comprising "The Dragon Chair" and "The Fairy Descendant", created by Meritorious Artisan Nguyen Tan Phat. The image of the Dragon (symbolizing power and prosperity) combined with the Fairy (symbolizing compassion) is solemnly positioned at the gateway to the Capital, serving as a proud introduction to the nation's origins.

Within the exhibition area, passengers will step into the world of lacquer paintings by Artist Minh Doan and the SONTA Designs workshop. Traditional Vietnamese lacquer materials and elaborate crafting processes are honored here, creating a compelling contrast between the quietude of heritage and the hustle of modern aviation.

Moving to the East Wing, passengers encounter the "Eternal Spring" grand scene, highlighted by a majestic, sacred Dragon winding over 80 meters in length. This figure symbolizes the aspiration of Thang Long (Ascending Dragon) and serves as a wish for the nation's rising prosperity. Embracing the mascot is the brilliant "Vietnamese Essence" space, featuring displays from renowned craft villages such as Van Phuc silk, bamboo and rattan weaving, conical hats, and flute kites, alongside a cultural exhibit representing the 54 ethnic groups. This cultural tableau is completed by an ancient, moss-covered Northern house, recreating a rustic and simple lifestyle amidst the bustle of the international terminal.

Multi-Sensory Experiences and Emotional "Touchpoints"

Beyond visual art, the terminal space is filled with the melodies of traditional folk instruments, performed nightly from December 15 to December 25, 2025.

Notably, to realize the "Journey of Love" message, Noi Bai International Airport is deploying unique interactive activities:

  • Surprise Gifts on the Conveyor Belt: During the peak days of December 23 and 24, 2025, at the baggage claim areas (Terminals T1 and T2), Christmas gifts will be cleverly interspersed with checked luggage. This initiative aims to bring unexpected joy to passengers immediately upon landing while ensuring the baggage return process remains smooth and safe.
  • Santa Claus Gifting: A special activity exclusively for young passengers under the age of 12 in the departure lounges.
  • The Wishing Tree: A designated space where passengers can write and preserve their wishes for the New Year 2026.

A representative of the Noi Bai International Airport leadership shared: "The inauguration of the T2 Terminal expansion is not merely an infrastructure advancement but an opportunity for us to redefine the airport experience. Through 'Journey of Love,' Noi Bai affirms its position not just as a transit hub, but as a vibrant cultural space where Vietnamese values are honored and shared with international friends."

The "Journey of Love" activity series serves as an emotional year-end greeting, marking the modern and high-class transformation of the expanded Terminal T2. This stands as clear evidence of Noi Bai International Airport's efforts to create a Gateway to the Capital that is Modern in stature – Rich in identity – Dedicated in service, worthy of being the first touchpoint of love in every passenger's journey.
